The wide-stance deck and dual-arm frame are designed for stability, but like any active toy, it works best on grass, carpet, or a soft play surface (not pavement) with an adult nearby for the first few sessions. It was built for worse. The ball is molded solid rubber, the arms are reinforced, and the handlebar is wrapped in dual-density foam. This is a "leave it in the yard all summer" toy, not a "handle with care" one.
